What began as a simple joint project between a MAPEH and a Social Studies teacher turned out to be the way in giving birth to the SJA Performing Arts Club. One of the teachers decided to give it a shot and founded the group with some of the most talented students of St. Joseph's Academy. Check out the trailers of the movie entries of the very first SJA Film Festival. Enjoy!
1. Balay (Old House) - This is a story of students who got stranded in the middle of nowhere on their way to their vacation spot forcing them to stay in an old house, "balay", that makes their vacation permanent. This entry got the following awards, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor and Best Picture.
2. Lihim (Secret) - This movie centers on the life of siblings who lost their parents in a tragic robbery case. This incident causes them to move to a new house where the main character finds love but it doesn't end there. This entry got the award "Best in Sound".
3. The Mistaken - A love story with a tinge of suspense. This movie starts in a high school life setting and follows the main characters life as they fall in love, get hurt, suffer and find love again. This movie got the award of "Best Supporting Actress".
4. Walang Iwanan (We Never Leave Each Other) - A promise in this movie gets way out of hand. A promise that even death can't stop. This movie got the "Best in Cinematography and "Best Director" award.
5. Silent Death - This movie is about a girl who discovers a terrifying secret that her trauma has hidden in her mind for many years until she finds a CD that changes her life. This movie was awarded as the "Top Grossing Film" and "Campus Choice".
